The Defenders
‘The Defenders’ was a series about two Las Vegas lawyers, played by Jim Belushi and Jerry O’Connell, for CBS. The show had a 50’s ‘rat pack vibe’ design. We built the lawyer’s offices and a large courthouse complex for the series run. The pilot, directed by Davis Guggenheim, was done mainly in Los Angeles, with a few days of shooting in Las Vegas. The pilot was a great experience of working to establish the style of the show. Defenders was a strong-look series that was fun to design and run.

Princress Protection Program
A Disney movie about a princess in hiding and a regular girl who becomes her friend was shot entirely in Puerto Rico, which had to look like Louisiana. This project was challenging due to the location but fun because of the script and people. There are many great places for this project on the island, with changes to signs and color to match the look of our movie.
We had two built sets to establish the show, the Princess Protection Program HQ and the Cabin by the Lake. The HQ was a transformed High School band room. The cabin was a small open dilapidated structure that we rebuilt on time and budget.

NUMB3RS Season 3-6
I worked as the Art Director on the CBS Television series ‘Numb3rs’ seasons 3 through 6. Working on a crime drama presented unique challenges for every episode. We were getting into the rhythm of prepping, shooting, and closing an hour-long episode in eight days. Over the series, the Art Department oversaw and managed other departments. We had to work hard to maintain the established procedural look of the show. At the beginning of every season, we would get to update our basic sets. Tony Scott came and directed the first episode of season 4, reinforcing the show’s look while adding some new ideas to going forward.
